Description
This reversible throw/quilt was made from old cotton saris and stitched using kantha embroidery. Kantha is a prominent form of embroidery consisting of running stitches, often practiced by rural women in east Asia, especially in India and Bangladesh. These unique pieces are a beautiful way of up-cycling old saris and began centuries ago. They were borne out of necessity when women stitched together old saris and cloth scraps to form blankets and cushions.
