Description
This beautiful quilt is block printed and hand-stitched by textile artisans in India. It is reversible with the print on one side and a plain layer on the other. This showcases the the kantha stitching. Kantha is a simple but prominent form of embroidery consisting of running stitches. It is often practiced by rural women in east Asia, especially in India and Bangladesh. Ajrakh also known as Ajrak is a unique form of blockprinting found in Sindh, Pakistan; Kutch, Gujarat; and Barmer, Rajasthan in India. This style of displays special designs and patterns made using block printing by stamps. This is a handmade product and may have slight irregularities which add to its unique character.
